TV: Quick review of Season one of The Mist
I never read the short story, I have to admit. But Frank Darabont’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist one of my favourite paranormal films. One of the reasons for that is for the end, which I won’t go into details over, other than to say that it must of took a lot of guts for someone to end it like it did end.
When I heard that they were making a TV show based on the short story, I was intrigued. But I already read a lot of negative press about it, which made me a tad hesitant as to whether it was worth watching. Usually unless I know a show has a second season I won’t bother watching the first season, and as of writing this I don’t know. But I like the premise of the Mist so gave it a go.
I was glad I did. It does have a whole lot of cliches, and for a moment I did fear that they were going to water down the shocking nature of the material, but they didn’t.
Looking forward to a season 2.
